Plagiarism Detectors: How They Work, The Different Types and What You Should Avoid

Using someone else’s work as your own is considered plagiarism. But, sometimes this is hard to detect especially when the person uses some parts of your work and doesn’t copy the entire thing or changes the wording a little.
Imagine how hard it would be for me to detect a paragraph or two from a 5K word story if it was plagiarized before we had the internet?
Hard is the answer, not really impossible but hard. Thanks to the internet teachers have the job to check for plagiarism on almost every paper or essay students write.
How do plagiarism detectors work?
These programs use search engines to search for similar works and ideas and compare the results found with the work we present. And, based on results the programs usually provide a percentage to let us know how much of it is plagiarized.
The programs are far more complex but an example of this would be google dorks or google hacking, which is basically using keywords to find specific files and websites online. Google Dorking would bring results if you were to use it to look for plagiarism but it wouldn’t be that accurate and you’d have to go through…
